Cost of entry into marketing

What is the cost of entry into marketing?

I see two main ones.

1. You learn copywriting and direct response. Things that make real marketing and haven't changed in decades. But, it's hard and takes a lot of time to master. The bonus is that most marketers are not focused on this.

2. Start being good in "technical marketing": demand generation, automation and SEO. Cost of entry is a lot lower. You can learn how to run email sequences in one hour.

But... technology changes super fast.

Staying on top of algorithms requires a lot of commitment.

And most marketers play in this space.

Which way you go?
